Membership Benefits
Events and Activities: A varied programme of talks and events is held throughout the year on topics relating to Bhutan. These may be held online or in-person, usually in London.
Recent illustrated talks and discussions have included a discussion on Gelephu Mindfulness City, led by the city Governor and the former Minister of Home Affairs, a talk by a leading British expert on the Conservation of Tigers and Snow Leopards in Bhutan and the surrounding region and presentations on education policy and the challenges of balancing environmental stewardship and religious heritage by postgraduate Bhutanese students. Other meetings have discussed flora and fauna, culture and the built environment. The Society aims to video-stream all talks held in person whenever practicable.
Bhutanese students and nationals can benefit from the opportunity to meet Society members from around the UK and to network socially and professionally, as well as attending all events.
Annual Reception: The Society holds an Annual reception in November each year for members to meet each other and to meet Bhutanese students studying in the UK.
Annual dinners or receptions and social events are open to all members and their guests. Bhutanese citizens living in the UK are also welcome to attend.
Newsletter: Members receive the Society’s Newsletter three times during the year.
The Society’s website contains an archive of previous events, newsletters, useful information about Bhutan (such as key dates in the calendar) and information about future events.
